Manuscript Critique Service
I would love to give you some feedback on your book in progress or maybe you have just completed a novel and want to polish it.
Here’s how it works.
Step One: E-mail me at sharondunnbooks@gmail.com. Let me know what you are working on and what you hope to get out of the critique. We’ll make arrangements for you to pay me via check or PayPal.
My Rates are as follows:
First 30 pages – $50.00
Each additional page – $2.00
No additional charge for e-mail exchange and phone calls.
Step Two: Once I have an understanding of what you are looking for in the way of feedback, you e-mail me the manuscript and I will get it back to you in a timely manner. My comments will be made via “Track Changes” so you won’t have to pay any mailing fees or try to read my handwriting.
Step Three: The first 30 pages will give you an idea of my editing style without obligating you to pay for a whole manuscript. If you think we are a good fit, you can continue to feed me manuscript pages when you feel ready to share them.
A note about my critique style: While I think it is important to point out to writers what they are doing right in their manuscript, I also believe the only way we grow as writers is to hear truthful but tactful feedback. I won’t mince words, I will let you know how to make your book even better and get it ready for publication.
Tutoring Service for Academic Papers
I have over seventeen years experience helping college students improve their papers. I have worked with undergrad and grad students and have understanding of papers across the curriculum from English, to Biology, to History.
The procedure is much the same.
Step One: E-mail me with your assignment and due date (sharondunnbooks@gmail.com). You need to be very specific about what the assignment is, let me know if you are responding to a prompt set up by the professor and what other criteria is required. Look at your assignment sheet or sent me to a place on the web where the assignment has been posted.
Step Two: If it looks like we are a good fit, we’ll make arrangements for payment either by check or via PayPal.
My rates for giving feedback on academic papers:
5 to 7 pages – $20.00
7 to 10 pages – $25.00
10 to 15 pages – $30.00
Step Three: You send me the paper via email and I’ll send it back to you with feedback in time for you to make changes and hand it in
Note about academic papers:
This is not a service where you purchase a paper. I will give you suggestions that will help you improve your paper, but you have to do the hard work. I will not write your paper for you.
I tutor all papers, but since intellectual diversity is something I care about, I love to help students who are doing conservative scholarship.
I do have experience helping graduate students and have a master degree in History with a minor in English. If you need feedback on a thesis or a longer work, we can talk and see if a critique from me would be helpful and we can negotiate a reasonable rate at that time (I understand what it means to be a starving student)
